Mourning

Aurora, Colorado (CNN) – A tragedy just happened in Colorado, America on Friday, July 20. James E. Holmes, the 24-year-old former doctoral candidate, attacked a packed theater, opening fire on the terrified audience. The massacre caused at least 12 fatalities. Accused of a mass shooting at the Century 16 multiplex in Aurora, Holmes made his first appearance in the courtroom on Monday. With various shades of orange hair, Holmes looked downward, and then stared straight ahead without blinking for a long period. At times, he kept up the blank stare or his eyes fluttered, squeezed tight or reopened. Also, his eyebrows arched over days of stubble, which gave his face a mournful mien. (Did he really mourn? For himself or for the victims?) According to Holmes’ colleagues and his relatives, Holmes is “clean-cut, quiet and responsible.” Some even described Holmes as “nerdish” and “a book-smart type guy.” The image is difficult to reconcile. An Interesting Experience

Something interesting happened to me this morning. The story goes as follows. As usual, I took the MRT to school. I could not find any seat because it was too crowded. Suddenly, one seat was vacant. I saw it and was ready to take it. However, a woman slid onto the seat. Wow, it was amazing! She was so swift, so quick. Just a blink of eye, she sat down. “She won!” I thought to myself. Then, she stood up because someone older was standing in front of her. I almost burst into laughter. She found me. Then again, she rushed to me, asking me “Why are you laughing?” I said, “No, I am not laughing; I am smiling.” “Then, why are smiling?” “I thought you were really a quick person.” She told me she had no choice because of her consciousness. “You really have a kind heart!” Then, we started having a conversation.
